TARTAN WEEK PARADE 2011 - 9th of April 2011

9th April am, flight departs Glasgow Airport to Newark Airport, New Jersey.
2,30PM each party will transfer from Newark Airport, to The Intercontinental Hotel, East 48th Street NYC, enjoying the drive of James Gandolfini, (Tony Soprano) from New Jersey to Manhattan City as seen in the opening intro to every episode of "THE SOPRANOS" viewing the Iconic Skyline of the most exciting city in the World, NEW YORK.
Brief reception Check In and welcome in the Lobby of the Fabulous Intercontinental Hotel after which you will have a couple of hours to Relax and Acclimatise.

Friday evening at 7PM we meet in the Lobby of the Intercontinental Hotel and take the 2 minute walk into Grand Central Station. Within its grand surroundings in the Main Concourse we will re create our own version of the 02 advert and begin our video Record of our unique Tartan Weekend in the "Big Apple". grandcentralterminal.com

Friday 8.15 PM we attend our annual Pre Parade Ceilidh, our classic get together and celebration of our Scottish Heritage. Hot food, refreshments, Musicians, Dancing and Special Guests make this a memorable evening where auld friends are reunited and many new friends are made at the Mount Vernon Hotel Museum, 421 East 61St Street.

Although New York City is the City that never sleeps, it is highly recommended that you do, as Saturday sees the ‘Tartan Day Parade’ in which you will walk up 6th Avenue as a Registered Parade Participant. This event naturally attracts major media attention and is filmed and broadcast on Worldwide television. A fantastic opportunity to carry Company Banners or wear Costumes promoting your Brand/Product to a World Wide viewing audience.

Saturday 10th April, Assembling at 1 PM we leave from 44th Street leading The World's Largest Caber made by Bullwood and presented to the people of New York as a gift of friendship in 2007, at 2 PM and join this years Grand Marshall, Politicians and numerous Hollywood Stars walking to 58th Street, next to Central Park where our Pipes and Drums, Floats and friends join in celebrating Scottish History, Life and Culture in America. A unique experience to be enjoyed, remembered and described to your Children, Grand Children and many generations to come.

After our end of Parade Photo session we leave 58th Street and head for 133 W33rd St where at 4.30pm we continue our Celebrations with the Famous Post Parade Party at Stouts Bar, with Live Music, outstanding Hospitality and a chance to mingle with Celebrities and Stars till Midnight. A night of real variety with something for everyone.

SUNDAY, 11th ALL CHOICES ARE OPTIONAL;

At Sunday Breakfast in the Intercontinental Hotel choose all or some of the following as we visit our friends and explore Manhattan together.

Visit to Ellis Island, tour the Museum, remembering the millions of worldwide immigrants who landed here over the centuries in the hope of a new life. Enjoy the spectacle of the Clan Currie pipes and drums as we commemorate their memory together. http://www.history.com/content/ellis-island

Sunday evening; return to The Intercontinental Hotel, Dine, Rest and Unwind.

Monday, 12th April; late Breakfast, last minute shopping, Pack , Check out, head for Newark Airport and return to Bonnie Scotland, arriving First thing Tuesday Morning.
